Just cool, proggy/folky noodles which mix it up with big, kinda stoner-y doom riffs and a decent amount of Bergtatt/Pale Folklore thrown on top, with an atmosphere that's thicker than Venus. What I like about this album is that it's full of long form, ambitious songwriting- 7 songs, 1 hour- but it never drags, never feels forced, there's no "eat your veges before you get dessert" approach. may have a confusing full stop in its' title, everything else about it is pretty freakin prime. I know it's perhaps not the most exciting review when it's just full of gushing praise but sometimes it's warranted- these guys are a real good band, and while V. I'll be part of the team that is orchestrating the food/computer/colonist convoy. For whatever reason I'd forgotten about the fantastic 'Saga' album that these guys dropped a few years back, but shuffle on itunes is one great ol' thing and here I am, back on the bandwagon of one of the most sorely underrated bands going around. It is all just a bunch of explorers, but it is still more than just being a Missions Pilot/Courier. Tomorrow, I get my first taste of representing IGER as an appointed contact. Still not as capable as Sleipnir, but the Asp has no haulage at all at all. ![]() Our laden range has jumped from around 18 LY to well over 26 LY. She sent me off on a scavenger hunt for several oddities, but it was worth it in the end. With a couple of days to kill, I went to see Felicity Farseer about what she might be able to do to improve Hippogryph's FSD range. I also checked in with IGER and they tasked me with my current assignment. Since that pulled me out of the first flight of the August Exodus, I contacted the mission admins and moved myself over to the second flight, due to leave tomorrow. As a result, I ended up limping back to the bubble for repairs. I am told that they got the repair facilities aboard Jaques' station working again, but that wasn't the case when this happened. The Asp is more maneuverable, and that was the problem. The Clipper is actually faster than the Asp in Einsteinian, but that didn't help. Unlike Sleipnir, I didn't manage to pull out of it before we took damage. Hippogryph found another of those contact binaries I had written about a while back. The lead up for this set of events is another oddity. people that see other people as property would be big on families of slaves. Oddly, there are almost no children all couples and single adults. The folks I am going to be moving are a combination of scared, hopeful and overwhelmed. The reasoning behind that is an effort to get Jaques fully operational as the beginning of what is a combination Underground Railroad and a second Interstellar Diaspora. In one of the odder moments in a colorful career with IGER, my haulage consists of 120 tonnes of Computer Components and 40 tonnes allocated as quarters for colonists who used to be slaves.
